Distributed Songwriting

I use different machines for different things. I don't have just one DAW that does everything I need. My process is evolving. I am trying to understand what it is that I want, which is harder than I tried to believe. It helps to talk about it, to clarify my mind so that I can reach a level of peace that has been hard to come by lately.

I want to be able to make a cool sounding mellow sound, and then be able to do an industrial anthem. I will be a one man band. I am too screwed up to work with anybody else. I've finally reached a determining point in my sound and my music. Now, it's a matter of getting up the courage to step off the end of the diving board and eaither arch my back into a knife through the water, or land on my belly and splash everybody in the first row. But then, my audience won't be here. They will be there, where you are.

I have a setup that is modular and efficient. I have come to a realization about sound and where it comes from. I just produced a 6 song EP on an iPad. I've got a backlog of albums to releasee but there is paperwork to complte and cover art to secure. I want to make more refined products, so I try to be patient and do good work. I am an old aprentice, but the alternative would be worse.
